American Sketchbook

This is one of the images from the poster series I developed with Chatham Hill Games. It is an ongoing project where major themes in American history are explored. In addition to the poster set, several of these illustrations have been produced as puzzles.
See the 'American Sketchbook' page for more in this series.

American Girl 'Addy'

I had an opportunity a while back, to illustrate one of the 'American Girl' book series. Addy is the Civil War era character who escapes slavery & finds a new life of freedom in Philadelphia. There were 54 paintings in total for this 6 book series. Posted below are two from the series. Additional Addy paintings are posted on the 'Addy' page

Monsieur Corbin

This is part of a series of drawings done in the manner of journal entries. These were done for the visitor center at the New York State Historic Site at Crown Point, NY which was a fort on Lake Champlain held successively by the French, British and Colonial forces. The idea was to add a personal dimension to the history of the site by fleshing out some of the records of people who lived and served at the fort. This group of  drawings (30 or so) are presented in front of exhibit displays in a book format with pages that the visitor can turn to see the story of each of the individuals.
I will post additional images from this suite of drawings in the near future.

More Crown Point drawings

Here are some additional drawings from the series done for Crown Point Historic Site visitors center. The writing is mine - done to suggest a style of writing as well as type treatment. The actual content and design at the visitors center is a bit different.

A law practice television ad

This law firm took the unique approach of using my drawings instead of live action footage for their ad campaign. They wanted to bring a courtroom sketch feel to the ads to set them apart from the competition.
