Dahl Taylor re-illustrated the six book ‘Addy’ series for The Pleasant Company. ‘Addy’ is part of The American Girl Collection for young girls. The stories chronicle a slave girl's struggle for freedom during the Civil War.

There were 57 oil paintings on canvas and 19 character portraits created for this reissue. Most of the original paintings are available for sale. All copyrights, however, belong to The Pleasant Company and these images may not be reproduced.

These paintings are the originals from which the books were reproduced and are truly one of a kind. The canvases are unstretched and unframed. Sizes given are approximate and in some cases include the partially finished edges of the painted image area. In many instances the images are cropped here and in the books. The canvases can be re-stretced and framed by a local framer.
